- Introduce us to the band! What are your names and what do you do in the band?
Hi thanks for chatting with me today I am Pauli and i kind of initiated the project with the idea to collaborate with Old and New friends Musician,s Artists and Activists
Where do you call home? I live in Melbourne Australia and some of the other people I have worked with on this project live here also live in Sydney and Byron Bay
- How long have you been together as a band and how did you find each other?
The original project started in 2020 during Lockdowns and I was looking to find a creative idea that could evolve I was taking Street Art Photos and Videos and writing soundtracks for them in My studio
- Do you have a special songwriting recipe you follow?
I usually start by merging drum sounds and beats in the studio then build other instruments in to the mix and if anybody is available we start add their elements be it Lyrics or loops of sounds to go with the theme We are working on
- How would members of your family describe your music to someone that hasn’t heard it?
Im sure they describe Me as a loose Eccentric that likes to Mix up different genres and styles of music like building a jigsaw puzzle using different puzzle pieces
- What do you have on your(Spotify) playlists you would be embarrassed for others to see?
Ill just check nothing there thats embarrassing but in my record collection i have the Bee Gees Spicks and Specs original pressing kind of quirky track but I dont mention it too often
- Do you have any pre-show rituals?
I try not to get too worked up so i look for distractions not rituals
- Who have you met that has left you starstruck?
Dizzy Galespie at The Basement in Sydney that was a great show and I hung around till every body left to give him a hug and then felt stupid He probably just wanted to rest He gave every thing when He played such an amazing musician
- What do you consider your greatest achievement as far as a band?
I think right nowIm trying to navigate as an Artist using Visuals Street Art and Performance is a big challenge
- What key elements do you believe makes up a successful song?
Something that resonates in a song or track and it doesnt have to be lyrical just the vibe or texture of the flow of a track like an instrumental can take someone on a journey when they listen in the car or at home like a soundtrack for their own moments in life . The craft of composing and collaborative energy brings the elements
- When writing, how do you know when it is finally done?
My process is very quick when i write the chord structures are usually simple. Its when I record in the studio and start adding layers to tracks and getting sounds in the mix and effect pedals on instruments that takes hours in production time then My brain is like a switch I instinctively just turn off then play it in the car and if ti sounds good there its usually done for Me
- What song of yours are you most proud of?
My current one I released in April which is Dig Deep Dig Beats Its an experimental merging of some Beats and Loops with heavy Bass lines
- Is it possible to be on the road and not eat junk food? How do you keep it leveled out?
My main junk intake is donuts I love them I dont need to on the road for them. But generally I love fruit so there is always a balance to keep feeding the brain
- Are you able to write while on the road or do you need a calm familiar space like home?
I need to be a little still but I can write down concepts and ideas when traveling I have a couple of note books one for lyrics ( The Book Of Word ) one for songs ( The Book Of Chords ) and one for Ideas ( The book Of Thought ) but all the creative action happens in the studio whether that is My studio or when I go finish off in a Bigger studio with another engineer
- What’s the most embarrassing thing to happen on stage or on tour?
Getting lost and missing a Gig before siri and google maps were born
- What can BleachBANGS do to help you in any way?
Listen to some of My music be constructive in any criticism and hopefully a song resonates with you Keep supporting emerging artists without Music and Art we have no Culture and that would be a sad day for every one
- How can everyone keep up with everything you have going on? Where can they get albums/merch?
