A couple months ago we had the opportunity to interview the band Archers, and we jumped on it.  The band had recently released their single “Never Enough” on Sirius XM Octane, and it is a banger.  During the interview we were told tour announcements would be released soon, and when we asked if Oklahoma City was on that list of dates, they just grinned and reiterated that we should stay tuned.  So, when the tour dates for The Temporary High Tour were announced, we were excited to see that OKC was indeed on the list.  Now the hard part…we had to actually wait for the date to get here.

Skip forward two months, and the night of the show was finally here.  The Temporary High Tour also contained Dead Eyes, Of Virtue, and Rivals.  Beer City Music Hall was the perfect venue to host this show. Big enough to hold the large crowd, yet small enough to make the fans feel like close to all the bands.

The Baltimore, MD band Dead Eyes was first up for the night, and boy did they deliver. When the first band of the night brings the kind of energy that the guys in Dead Eyes did, you know you are in for a hell of a night. Vocalist, Zack Williams thanked Archers for giving them a chance on this tour when other bands were not giving them the opportunity. Williams asked if anyone in the crowd had a crazy ex, and said he wrote the song Thanks for Nothing about his ex. They followed that one up with a song called Relapse, and prefaced the song by saying yes, he took her back. Dead Eyes left it all on the stage during their set. They came to show the fans exactly who they were and what they were about. I am a fan for sure!!

After barely making it to the venue in time for the show, Lansing,MI band Of Virtue was next to take the stage. After being rear-ended in their tour van the night before in San Antonio, Of Virtue arrived at Beer City Music Hall 10 minutes prior to show time. There were a lot of fans at this show that were glad the band made it. (me included) A huge thanks to Sirius XM Octane for introducing me to this band. When they played their single Cannibals, they were joined by Archers lead vocalist, Nate Pulley, which made the crowd go crazy. Of Virtue lead vocalist, Tyler Ennis jumped out into the crowd while singing, and that only increased the energy in the room even more. This is definitely another band you need to check out. I am a fan of duel vocalists, and Tyler Ennis and Damon Tate pair perfectly together.

The L.A. band Rivals were in the direct support slot for this stop. I was not familiar with this band, and if I am being completely honest, when they took the stage and I saw it was just a singer and a drummer, my initial thought was this couldn’t be that great. It did not take me long to change my mind. Holy cow…When vocalist, Kalie Wolfe took the stage, she was at 110%, and did not let up until their set was over. At one point, she grabbed a guys hand that was on the front row and pulled herself up on the barricade and stood there singing to the crowd, and they were singing right along with her. I can’t say enough about her high-kicking energy, and how absolutely entertaining she is to watch. Even when there were technical difficulties towards the end of their set, and they lost all sound, they did not stop. Drummer, Josh Alves, kept beating away, and Kalie went full on acapella and belted out those lyrics with all she had. I was definitely wrong to pre-judge this band. In the words of Dr. Houseman in Dirty Dancing “when I’m wrong, I say I’m wrong”.

The time of the evening has arrived, and after a full on sing along of Crazy Train in honor of the passing of Ozzy Osbourne, the Madison, WI band Archers made their way onto the stage and immediately started with their Sirius XM Octane hit Never Enough. It is moments like this when I am reminded how hard it is to sing along to a bad ass song, while taking photos of the band at the same time. There was a group of ladies in the crowd that took a liking to Co/Back Up Vocalist Oscar Porter, as they swooned and cat-called every time he made a move. I may have actually witnessed him blushing at one point.

This Archers show was definitely worth the wait and anticipation. There was a venue of fans from 10 years old to probably 60 years old that would completely agree with me too. A huge thanks to vocalist Nate Pulley for the shout-out to all the fans in the crowd over the age of 30. He thanks us for sticking it out til the end, even if we did have to take some Tylenol or Advil to make it that long.

The Temporary High Tour has wrapped up…or has it. Archers announced Part II of this tour with a whole new slew of dates and places released. Check them out below. Make sure you get out to a show if they are heading to your area. You will not regret it.
