Otherworldly Entity was formed in 2018 by Zlatko Grozl and John Harris. Our first album Cataclysm came out in 2021, and our second album Psilocyborg came out in 2023. Our newest album, Inside-Out, is a studio acoustic album that re-imagines some of our favorite songs off of Cataclysm and Psilocyborg, as well as some brand new tracks

Introduce us to the band! What are your names and what do you do in the band?

-I’m Shawn and I play Drums for Otherworldly Entity

Where do you call home?

Syracuse, NY

How long have you been together as a band and how did you find each other?

-The three of us have been together for a little over 2 years but John and Zlatko have been together for about 6 years I want to say.

Do you have a special songwriting recipe you follow?

-Not really. We bounce some ideas just jamming or we will show each other an idea we came up with.

How would members of your family describe your music to someone that hasn’t heard it?

-Very different, very otherworldly. Numetal blend of deftones and system of a down and more

What do you have on your(Spotify) playlists you would be embarrassed for others to see?

-Im not really embarrassed with anything i listen to but iv been listening to The Plot In you and Our Last Night lately. Those covers go hard! (OLN)

Do you have any pre-show rituals?

-i usually warm up with a practice pad and get really stoned.

Who have you met that has left you starstruck?

-Because I got to meet him and talk with him I’d say Scooter Ward from Cold. One I didn’t get a chance to actually meet but he did see us live was Chris Motionless from Motionless In White.

What do you consider your greatest achievement as far as a band?

-Either playing with Cold in Rochester, Ny because it got pretty personal or Playing with Infected Rain in Providence, RI. It was a real welcome to big time music eye opener.

What key elements do you believe makes up a successful song?

-A great simple drum beat. Deep meaningful Lyrics that everyone can gravitate to with a big super catchy chorus. You catch the hearts of your audience especially when done live. It gets fans involved with songs. Not better feeling that a crowd singing your songs back to you.

When writing, how do you know when it is finally done?

– it’s more so a feeling and if it has key parts to complete the structure of the song. Anything more than five minutes is too long to me.

What song of yours are you most proud of?

-Im really proud of all of the songs I wrote with these guys. SIN will hold a special place in my heart having it being the first song I ever wrote with otherworldly. My favorites to play are Grief and a song I didn’t even write, Foreplay.

Is it possible to be on the road and not eat junk food? How do you keep it leveled out?

-Yeah, There’s grocery stores everywhere you go. It’s easy to shop cheap and you can keep your food in a cooler to keep cold for the next day.

Are you able to write while on the road or do you need a calm familiar space like home?

-I can write wherever I am. With any riff or just an idea that suddenly came to me

What’s the most embarrassing thing to happen on stage or on tour?

-I can’t recall any embarrassing moments but I do from time to time have some “oh sh**” moments.

What can BleachBANGS do to help you in any way?

– Just spread the word of our new album! We went out of our comfort zone and this new album, Inside-Out, is a studio acoustic album

How can everyone keep up with everything you have going on? Where can they get albums/merch?
