Historic Tulsa Theater was the place to be as Dogstar brought its All In Now Tour to Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 14, delivering a night of alternative rock with special guests The Backfires. The legendary venue provided the perfect backdrop for an evening built around catchy hooks, guitar-driven melodies, and the kind of live music experience that reminds you why seeing a band in person beats listening through headphones. With fans gathering to see Dogstar and its unmistakable lineup, the night promised more than a familiar Hollywood face onstage—it was an opportunity to experience a band with its own musical identity and a renewed passion for performing.

Opening the night, The Backfires brought a fresh dose of rock energy to the Tulsa Theater stage. The New York-based band, featuring Alex Gomez on vocals and guitar, Harry Ruprecht on lead guitar, Matt Walter on bass, and Dylan Spiro on drums, delivered an alternative-rock sound packed with attitude and melodic appeal. Their performance offered a strong introduction to the evening, setting the tone with their guitar-driven style and giving the crowd a chance to discover a band ready to make its mark. As the opening act, The Backfires did exactly what a great opener should do: get the room warmed up and ready for the headliner. They earned several new fans in Tulsa. I, for one, was adding some of their songs to my Spotify playlist.

Then it was time for Dogstar to take the stage. The alternative-rock trio consists of Bret Domrose on lead vocals and guitar, Keanu Reeves on bass, and Robert Mailhouse on drums. While Reeves is undoubtedly the name many people immediately recognize, Mailhouse is no stranger to Hollywood either, having built a career in both acting and music. Beyond their Hollywood connections, Dogstar is much more than a celebrity side project. Domrose’s vocals and guitar work lead the band’s melodic sound, while Reeves and Mailhouse provide the rhythmic foundation that brings the songs together. Touring behind their 2026 album All In Now, the band showcased its continued evolution, balancing newer material with songs that reflect its long history together. The trio’s chemistry and straightforward approach to rock made the performance about the music itself, rather than relying on star power alone.

Dogstar’s Tulsa appearance was a memorable stop on a tour celebrating the band’s return to the road and its latest chapter as a recording and performing act. From The Backfires’ opening set to Dogstar’s headlining performance, the historic Tulsa Theater provided a fitting setting for a night of live rock and alternative sounds. The All In Now Tour demonstrated that Dogstar is moving forward, with Domrose, Reeves, and Mailhouse continuing to build on their musical partnership. For Tulsa concertgoers, it was a chance to catch a distinctive rock trio live and enjoy an evening where the songs—not just the names behind them—took center stage.
