1. Introduce us to the band! What are your names and what do you do in the band?
I’m Grog. I’m the singer and bass guitarist. Drew is the original guitarist and my co-writer. Justin Bennet is our drummer. We also have a live US line up with Niki Skistimas on drums and Ralf Dietel on guitar. We’re an expanding family!
2. Where do you call home?
Los Angeles. But the band was formed in the UK and I’m English
3. How long have you been together as a band and how did you find each other?
A couple of decades. We naturally gravitated towards each other as the darker edge emerging out of the London scene back then, and now we’re kinda global with Justin being in Italy. I guess like minded souls find one another.
4. Do you have a special songwriting recipe you follow?
Not a recipe as such but the way we write and record has developed over time from being in the rehearsal room to shooting ideas back and forth from our respective home studios.
5. How would members of your family describe your music to someone that hasn't heard it? One journalist said we’re like Siouxsie meets Slayer, during our recent US tour I also had ‘Cocteau Twins meets Iron Maiden, and ‘the goth Soundgarden. All of whichI liked. I like when I’m compared to male vocalists that make sense rather than being put in a box with females I’m not that similar to really.
6. What do you have on your(Spotify) playlists you would be embarrassed for others to see? Simply Red Lady Godiva’s Room haha
7. Do you have any pre-show rituals?
I go to my third eye, open my heart, and invite my ancestors and tribe to accompany me in spirit on stage.
8. Who have you met that has left you starstruck?
Recently Rosie Garland, singer of The March Violets, who we supported on tour. She has amazing command on stage, she’s still going strong. She’s a wonderful wordsmith who writes gothic novels. And had no airs and graces.
9. What do you consider your greatest achievement as far as a band?
Overcoming traumatic events and maintaining the same love for what we do and an open minded optimism that there are still endless possibilities to experience.
10. What key elements do you believe makes up a successful song?
Melody, poetry, tone, the unexpected.
11. When writing, how do you know when it is finally done?
Good question. It’s an art I think, and there’s a point where you can go too long and fuck it up. I don’t like to get too pedantic myself, but Drew pays tons of attention to detail, and we are lucky to have each other to balance that out.
12. What song of yours are you most proud of?
Right now i love our new song Long Shadow because it’s on the pulse of this quite potentially terrifying, but also, call to be your authentic self, time we find ourselves in.
13. Is it possible to be on the road and not eat junk food? How do you keep it leveled out? Haha. No! I actually do make an effort, cus I eat a pretty healthy ayurvedic vegetarian diet, and thankfully the availability of veggie food is way better now than it used to be. But when you’re hungry and needing energy, and all there is is candy and chips in the dressing room whadya gonna do?!
14. Are you able to write while on the road or do you need a calm familiar space like home?
I have my antennae open all the time for lyrics and ideas, but it’s not hugely conducive for developing full songs with so much going on all the time. My notes get full though to come back to later.
15. What;s the most embarrassing thing to happen on stage or on tour?
I fell down a hole once in the dark at the end of the set! It was like 5 feet deep! You just heard this big ‘clang’ of my bass hahaaa. But I did manage to climb out for an encore. I had to get my hip xrayed the next day but it was just badly bruised luckily.
16. What can BleachBANGS do to help you in any way?
Tell everyone they need Die So Fluid in their lives!
17. How can everyone keep up with everything you have going on? Where can they get albums/merch?

DIE SO FLUID, the powerhouse trio known for their ferocious sound and dynamic stage presence, are back with a bang. Today, the band is thrilled to announce the release of their incendiary new single “Dispute,” accompanied by a mesmerizing lyric video. This release paves the way for their much-anticipated upcoming album, Skin Hunger, set to drop September 20, 2024.
“Dispute” showcases DIE SO FLUID’s signature blend of raw energy, melodic hooks, and thought-provoking lyrics. The song is a fierce declaration of defiance and resilience, capturing the band’s unrelenting spirit. The accompanying lyric video, a visual feast for the eyes featuring the always compelling work of Anabel DFlux, amplifies the song’s intensity, drawing viewers into a world of vibrant colors and powerful imagery.“‘Dispute’ is about the world’s addiction to conflict, the type of person who feels entitled to dominate your conversation with their own political agenda presuming you will agree, and the re-balancing of masculine and feminine, addressing antiquated conditioning. The message is to think for yourself. Don’t be brainwashed or bullied into adopting someone else’s opinion, OR into mindlessly and violently opposing it! Consider with discernment, trust your own inner wisdom.” – GROG
The lyric video, created by enigmatic front-woman Grog, and inspired by Metalocalypse, is dominated by purple, triangles, elements, and chakras. Grog has increasingly taken up the band’s creative baton herself to inject the personal and authentic ethos of DSF throughout their work, pure and undiluted. Grog also created the album artwork, including a 12 page booklet for the Skin Hunger cd, which can be purchased along with shirts, signed art cards and stickers, by visiting the bands crowdfunding campaign! https://igg.me/at/DSFSkinHungerCampaign
The forthcoming album promises to be DIE SO FLUID’s most ambitious project yet. DIE SO FLUID are a hard rock trio, formed in London, England in 2000. The three members are songwriter Grog (vocals, bass), Drew Richards (guitar) and Justin Bennett (drums; SKINNY PUPPY, MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT). Al Fletcher played drums and performed backing vocals until his tragic death in 2016. Having been described as Siouxsie meets Slayer, they are a unique alternative rock band fluidly combining the muscle of metal with the angular cheekbones of post- punk, all laced with intoxicating melody.
DIE SO FLUID have released five critically acclaimed albums: Spawn of Dysfunction, Not Everybody Gets a Happy Ending, The World Is Too Big for One Lifetime, The Opposites of Light, One Bullet from Paradise. Their sixth epic album release, Skin Hunger, is scheduled for September 2024. Now internationally located with Grog in Los Angeles, Justin in Italy, and Drew in the UK, Grog is proposing to tour in November with a US lineup. She is joining forces with Niki Skistimas and Ralf Dietel (KRASHKARMA), and they will take their captivating sound on the road supporting THE MARCH VIOLENTS on their West Coast US tour dates.
