Victor Sierra leads you into a vaporous and multicoloured universe through unexplored paths down to a future that could have been… In a bloody sky, the airship Hydrogen Queen keeps a steady pace while very special trains can fly leaving the road not taken. On stage, the Legendary Converted Princess’s and Commander Bob and their new sidekick: Pilot X-Ray’s energies invite you to go beyond the horizon line, to be stirred in unison and to live unpredictable experiences. Enter Victor Sierra’s universe…

Introduce us to the band! What are your names and what do you do in the band?

Hello Bleach Bangs readers, we are Victor Sierra. I’m Commander Bob, I play guitar and other instruments. I write all our songs. Then there is The Legendary Princess who sings and Piløt X-Ray, our half alive third member  who is charge of the computers’ stand behind us on stage.

Where do you call home? We’re based in Paris France Europe.

  •  How long have you been together as a band and how did you find each other?

It started between two centuries with Anouk (The Legendary Princess) and I         (Commander Bob) coming from quite different backgrounds. We decided to join          forces and form Victor Sierra.

  •  Do you have a special songwriting recipe you follow?

It suddenly comes and I can’t help but rush to my guitar or my computer. I’ve got piles of notes and words and ideas coming up to my mind. I can hear them     playing and it doesn’t stop. It keeps playing and it can even be painful         sometimes if I’m driving or such. Some might think I’m a loonie of some kind    when they hear me humming melodies I record on my cell phone.

  •  How would members of your family describe your music to someone that hasn’t heard it?

Don’t ask my family, they think I’m the lunatic I was mentioning before! If asked I would say: go listen to it and make yourself your own opinion. Then if you like our music let’s talk about it or not. We’re influenced by many things. I’ve crossed various musical trends. When we met the Steampunk world it was like shoes waiting on the road and perfectly fitting our feet. I guess it shows in our music.

  •  What do you have on your(Spotify) playlists you would be embarrassed for others to see?

Nothing. I really dislike some of our songs but I don’t mind. I think it happens to all musicians.

  •  Do you have any pre-show rituals?

A shot of Jack!

  •  Who have you met that has left you starstruck?

No one. Not at the level you seem to imply.

  •  What do you consider your greatest achievement as far as a band?

Our first show in the UK and in the US. But what’s coming next for sure!

  •  What key elements do you believe makes up a successful song?

You never know that before. And it’s too easy to talk about it when it’s out and successful. Writing songs is not some kind of Lego.

* When writing, how do you know when it is finally done?

Same as the previous question. I don’t really know. But all of a sudden, I’m deep in the process of recording it and then I can realize the writing is done. But even sometimes I go back to change some little things

    * What song of yours are you most proud of?

For now: ‘The Hydrogen Queen’s Gambit’. Waiting for the songs to come next.

      * Is it possible to be on the road and not eat junk food? How do you keep it leveled out?

I hate junk food. But sometimes after a show we’re done very late with loading our gear back in our truck. Then the last open pizza or kebab is welcome!

        * Are you able to write while on the road or do you need a calm familiar space like home?

I try to grab and keep every good idea when it’s floating in my mind anywhere on the road or elsewhere. Then I gather them all in my studio and write.

          * What’s the most embarrassing thing to happen on stage or on tour?

Our first show in the UK at The Asylum (Lincoln). Playing on the other side of the             Channel, where it all begun, was like a dream for us. It was chaotic, unprepared         and incredibly stressing. My amp died as soon as I switched it on at the             soundcheck. I had to play with my pedals only. A real drag. As I started the show             in a highly nervous state, and it drove me to shout: Good evening Great Britain!           They all cheered us up and the magic worked. It was quite emotional. Not our       best gig for sure but the most memorable one.

            * What can BleachBANGS do to help you in any way?

You already do a lot with this interview! Thank you for that. I hope we’ll keep chatting in the future, mostly when we release music.

              * How can everyone keep up with everything you have going on? Where can they get albums/merch?

We have a linktree which includes all our socials: linktr.ee/victorsierraband

All our CDs and singkles are available on bandcamp. But as promoters are looking more to Spotify in order to book bands, so please add us to your playlists!

And feel free to contact Deadfall management if you’d like to book Victor Sierra for a show.
